Electrify America, a South Korean-based KIA and electric vehicle charging station network, has partnered with the charging of electric vehicles. Within the scope of the agreement, Electrify America, together with KIA Motors America, announced the 'KIA Select' plan created to address the billing problems experienced by KIA Niro EV owners while using charging stations.
Electrify America's pricing system has three layers, and customers pay according to the maximum charge rate the vehicle can accept. The vehicle cannot get the full charge rate during the session because there are factors such as battery temperature and the current charge state of the vehicle that reduce the power accepted by the car.
Electrify America's Infrastructure Planning and Business Development Director Wayne Killen for the agreement with KIA “Electrify America cooperates closely with KIA Motors America to develop a pricing program that recognizes the unique charging profile of KIA Niro EV and enhances the charging experience of Niro EV drivers. He worked in it. ”
Cooperation in the field of charging from KIA and Electrify America:
To participate in the program, drivers need to download the Electrify America charging app and complete the registration process. Drivers also have the ability to use the app to find Electrify America charging stations, start a charging session, and pay using credit or debit cards entered during the registration process.
"Working with Electrify America to offer the 'KIA Select' charging program to Niro EV drivers is the newest embodiment of KIA's 'Give Everything' philosophy , ” said Michael Cole, President of KIA Motors America . The 'KIA Select' program is available in the United States for all 2019 and 2020 model Niro EV holders. The two companies will introduce the program on a common platform to promote registration for all eligible drivers. The program will remain in use until December 31, 2020 , and whether it will be continued or not will be decided in future evaluations.
